OIL PAINTING WINS PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD: Pasco artist Edith Huber won first place in the annual Artist Member's Exhibit at the Progress Energy Art Gallery, 6231 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey. Her oil painting Anyone There? was named People's Choice winner by vote of gallery visitors. Matt Ellrod claimed second place and Michael Lewis Glover took third. Edith Huber started painting in her native Germany under the renowned Percy Rings and later at the Sorbonne in Paris.  She was a long-term member of the Art Students League in New York City and took portraiture classes with Daniel Greene.  She also spent a month in Taos to paint with Ray Vinella.

Twenty artists exhibited works and close to 200 visitors voted for their preference. For information about Progress Energy Art Gallery
